About Institution:
National Institute of Technology Meghalaya is an Institute of National Importance established under the NIT Act, 2007, and operates under the support of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Since its inception in 2010, the institute has been committed to excellence in technical education, research, and innovation. Located in Shillong, Meghalaya, NIT Meghalaya offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in key disciplines of Engineering, Science, and Technology. The institute maintains high academic standards, a rigorous curriculum, and a strong emphasis on research and interdisciplinary learning. NIT Meghalaya fosters a research intensive environment, with active projects in areas such as power and energy systems, artificial intelligence, materials science, embedded systems, sustainable technologies, and data science. About the Department:
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2010. It offers B.Tech, MCA, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programs and focuses on delivering high-quality education and conducting research in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Network Security, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Mobile Robotics, Cryptography. This U.G Programme in Computer Science and Engineering is perhaps the most popular Programme in NIT Meghalaya, with an average intake of 30 students per year. The department has adequate facilities to support these teaching activities. It has a well-qualified and experienced faculty team. The Computer Science and Engineering department makes all efforts in imparting high quality education to its highly motivated students. One of the aims of this department to play its role of producing Computer Engineers ready to satisfy the needs of the Computer and IT world. The Department is also actively involved in various Research activities.
