About the Event:
MAPATHON – GeoSpatial Mapping Challenge is a 24-hour event organized by the School of Computer Science Engineering and Information Systems, VIT Vellore, as part of SustainAI 2026 (Industry-Academia Conclave 2.0). The theme of the event is “Intelligence for a Sustainable Tomorrow.” The challenge centers on AI/ML-based thematic map generation, with an industry problem statement provided to participants. Teams of up to 4 members will use open-source GIS tools to tackle the challenge, with exciting cash awards for top teams. Carrying the message “Map Today, Impact Tomorrow,” the event encourages participants to innovate, collaborate, and create real-world impact.
