Jawahar is best known because of its enduring history of innovation in education.In the year 1962 with five teachers and fifty students the prestigious Jawahar institution was born under the visionary leadership of Mrs. Susheela Jayakaran and Mrs. Web. It was meant only for KG kids. The strength increased day by day, the students brought name and fame to the alma mater. Jawahar took a proud place in the educational map of India. The then Honourable Principals and devoted teachers rendered yeomen service to the mighty institution. Initially Jawahar school was under the CBSE stream. Due to enormous increase in the student population as well as the special interest from the parents, has made the school to adopt matriculation system of education as an alternative stream in the year 1981. This led to the bifurcation of this school into two streams (Matric & CBSE) in the year 1982. From that day of inception Jawahar Matric has produced more than hundreds of medical professionals, engineers, civil servants etc. Right from the beginning NLCIL management has been doing pioneering job in raising the educational standard of Cuddalore district by placing the institution in the global map.
